The State Minister has discussed with Ohio State University Team

H.E. Prof. Afework Kassu, State Minister of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education had discussed with Ohio State University team working on Global One Health Initiative.


Started in 2009 the Global One Health initiative connects Ohio State to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mexico, Brazil, Thailand, China, India and beyond in a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to improve health, build capacity, and provide learning opportunities for students across the globe.


Expand capacity for a One Health approach via applied education, training, research and outreach to more efficiently and effectively address causes and effects of diseases at the interface of humans, animals, plants and the environment is the Mission of the Initiative.


The initiative opened office in Addis Ababa in 2016 to manage One Health activities in East Africa.


Prof. Afework had discussed with the team at his office on the cooperation of Health-Sciences at Higher Education and many other similar projects relating to the sector.
